#TacosWith
I love eating tacos with fascinating people.
“A full belly makes a happy heart,” is what my grandmother used to say. In linguistic terms, this is a golden nugget. Because it establishes an emotional connection to food in such a quick way.
For taco lovers, this connection is even more special. Because most of the times that you’re chowing down tacos, you’re not doing it alone. You’re doing it in the best company possible: your friends.
That’s the motivation behind #TacosWith. I want to combine the love of eating tacos with the joy of meeting thought-provoking people. I call this series of interviews #TacosWith. These are conversations with people outside my circle and even my comfort zone. People I may or may not agree with on many levels.

You get the point.
I’ll go to taco stands I’ve never been to and meet up with different personalities. We’ll grab a bite and I’ll pick their brain. I do it because I’m hungry for knowledge.
Ugh, that was so cheesy.
I promise I’m not a foodie. The truth is that I’m intrigued by exploring themes that are foreign to me. I say this because I love food. I will say YES to food any day at any time. Especially if it’s tacos.
Ever since I moved to L. A., I haven’t stopped eating tacos. I go to taquerias, stands and food trucks on the regular. I have my favorite joints, but I always get excited when friends take me to their neighborhood lonchera.
The city of stars is also known for having some crazy, out-of-the-box thinkers, and I’ve been lucky to meet many of them. From actors, filmmakers and musicians to activists, executives and politicians. Except Obama—I still haven’t met that guy—although he does seem to like tacos.
The purpose of #TacosWith is to publish these interviews in any format. Wether it’s written, with photos or on video. It’s evident I’m not inventing a new concept. There are many podcasts, vlogs and TV shows that combine food with journalism. I only seek to please my taste for tacos with my curiosity of meeting fascinating minds.
I invite you to follow me on this virtual taco tour of Los Angeles as I seek wisdom and carne asada. I know this won’t fill your belly, but I hope it makes your heart happy. ¡Buen provecho!
